The Paddock Project 2010
Our present Clubhouse was built over 30 years ago, thanks to the hard work, time and effort of an army of volunteers to ensure that all SRFC members present and future could enjoy their recreation in convivial and acceptable surroundings. However that was in the days when there were no leagues for the seniors and the Minis Section was just being formed. We now need to move on and upgrade our facilities for the 21st century.
Our much discussed Clubhouse Refurbishment Project plans have been approved by the local and RFU authorities, so at last we can now start to convert the dream into reality. Once again this Project is one in which the entire Club membership plus sponsors and all interested parties can and in fact need to be involved, as it will be to the benefit of young and old from those who were around during the original build to the little lads and lasses in the Under 6s, plus the entire community of Sevenoaks.
We want to raise upwards of £350,000 and to that end a Fund Raising Committee has been formed. Everyone will be contacted and asked to make a contribution. All such donations will be acknowledged and in fact there are some innovative and interesting ideas in the pipeline to record such donations for posterity. We are also looking to raise funds by organising events in which the whole club can participate, and so make this an enjoyable fund raising exercise. We shall be in touch shortly, so please be on the look out and consider how you can help to make sure that our Club and Clubhouse are “fit for purpose” for future generations.
